Qualification and Experience

Dr. Damodar Rout is an experienced neurosurgeon with more than 24 years of clinical experience. He is currently working as Chairman & Director, Department of Neurosurgery, Sri Ramachandra University, Porur. He was also associated with PGI as a faculty of neurosurgery, the Department of Neurosurgery in a referral hospital in Tehran, and the Department of Neurosurgery, Sree Chitra Medical Centre, Trivandrum. Dr. Damodar Rout obtained his MBBS in the year 1966 from Cuttack Medical College, Utkal University. Later he has done his MS in general Surgery from Postgraduate Institute (PGI) of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. From the same institute, he completed his M.Ch. in Neurosurgery).

Dr. Damodar Rout is specialized in Micro Vascular Surgery, Micro Neurosurgery, and Transsphenoidal Surgery. He has written various chapters of the books related to neurosurgery and his research papers have been published in various journals. He is the recipient of the "A" class Scientist award in 1991 and was also awarded Certificate of “Diploma in Laser Am Nerven System” Karl – Franzens University, Graz, Austria in 1993. His achievements in academics include mentoring almost 40 students for M.Ch. in neurosurgery and guiding various research projects of postgraduate students. Dr. Damodar is the pioneer in starting M.Ch. course n neurosurgery at Sri Ramachandra University.
